Elise Frawley enjoys an active career as an orchestral violist, chamber musician, and teacher. As a freelance musician, Elise performs with a variety of orchestras and ensembles in both classical and contemporary music. She performs regularly with Ensemble LPR, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, MetroChamber Orchestra, Ensemble Mise-en, Wordless Music Orchestra, among many other groups. Her concert engagements have brought her across the United States both as a chamber and orchestral musician.

Elise has had the opportunity to perform and/or collaborate with many of today’s leading artists, including Paul Simon, Andrew Bird, Pink Martini, Falls, Sweet Electra, Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, Atomic Tom, Jordan Knight, and the Airborne Toxic Event. She has recorded for artists on Bridge, Interscope and Universal Republic Labels.

Born in Westchester County, New York, Elise received her Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and her Master of Music from New York University, where she served as Adjunct Instructor of Viola during her studies. She has been awarded with the Lucie Bigelow-Rosen Scholarship given by the Caramoor Center for the Arts, the Manhattan School of Music Merit Scholarship, New York University Talent Scholarship, and the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition Award.

In addition to maintaining a private studio for viola and violin, Elise holds teaching positions at Turtle Bay Music School, The Brooklyn Music School, and the Tone Academy of Music.
