One 30 minute class per week

Ages 0 - 4 years

Tone Academy of Music’s primary goal of the Suzuki Preparatory Class is not only to teach young people to play musical instruments; we also recognize the unique contribution music can make in the total learning process. Our goal is to include the development of the whole child, unfolding the natural potential to learn with the support of their parent and caregiver, creating a deep love of music beyond the classroom!

The Suzuki Preparatory course is also the premier introduction to musical concepts for children preparing for private music instruction. Utilizing a balanced parent-child-teacher interaction, these engaging classes introduce rhythm, tone pulse and pitch through interactive movement, rhyme and instruments. They also cultivate concentration, motor skills, socialization and an early comprehension and love of music!

In the Suzuki Method, children thrive in an environment of total support. Suzuki students develop confidence and self-esteem, determination to try difficult things, self-discipline, and concentration.  Caregivers/Parents enjoy watching their babies and toddlers develop rhythmic and melodic awareness, memory and social skills and  teachers work with parents to build a repertoire of lullabies, action songs and nursery rhymes. Families are encouraged to use the take-home audio tracks for the entire family to continue practicing and building their child's skills.

Though not mandatory, children around 2.5 years old often concurrently enroll in private music lessons. The Suzuki Preparatory class is helpful with private instruction as it teaches and reinforces basic music skills.
