Originally from Israel, Dani Danor has made a name for himself as a versatile drummer in the world’s most respected jazz scene - New York City.
Since 2015, Dani has been performing with leading jazz vocalist Cyrille Aimée, touring extensively throughout the US, Europe and Asia. He has performed in some of the most celebrated international jazz festivals including Montreal Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz
Festival, Jazz in Marciac, as well as renowned jazz clubs worldwide such as Blue Note, Birdland, Jazz Standard, Ronnie Scott’s, Bimhuis, New Morning and The Cotton Club. In addition to jazz, Dani also performs regularly with funk bass legend, Fred Thomas
(James Brown’s bass player for over 30 years), the Supreme Queens gospel band, and with his five-piece Balkan band, Tipsy Oxcart.
Dani received his Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory in 2011, where he studied under the guidance of jazz masters Billy Hart, George Garzone, Jason Moran and Rakalam Bob Moses. Each of these unique musical minds has shared invaluable insight to a range of elements in music, which helped Dani refine his craft and develop his own sound.
With over 15 years of experience, Dani takes great pride in teaching the art of drumming and piano to students of different levels and age groups. He believes it is essential to curate the lessons according to each student’s individual interests, aspirations, and pace. Through hand exercises, coordination on the drum kit or learning songs, chords, and ear training on
the piano, each student develops the tools they need to play any style of music they love. Whether it’s rock, jazz, pop, funk, hip hop, or Latin, its all about having fun. By passing on both the knowledge and passion he developed over the years, he believes the students not
only gain joyous musical fulfillment, but also a sense of dedication and discipline.
