MAGGIE GOULD WILSON

Violin

Maggie Gould is a freelance violinist and teacher in New York City. A native of South Carolina, she received her Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University in Chicago.

 
Maggie has played in leading festivals across the Americas and Europe, and has had the privilege of performing in concert halls including the Concertgebouw, Royal Albert Hall, Palacio de Belles Artes, and Carnegie Hall. She has recently played alongside Stevie Wonder, Andrea Bocelli, and violinist Sarah Chang, and has performed with the orchestra for two seasons of America’s Got Talent. Maggie is a substitute violinist in the Broadway pit of Hamilton: An American Musical. 
 
Extremely passionate about teaching and using music as a tool for social change, Maggie was awarded a Global Leaders Fellowship with the YOA Orchestra of the Americas. Through the fellowship, she has coached youth orchestra members throughout Central America and most recently, in New Orleans within the Make Music NOLA program. She spent five months teaching violin in Belize, and was crucial in developing the country’s first National Youth Orchestra.

A dedicated teacher with a warm, creative approach, Maggie strives to cultivate a love of music, and to help students find his or her own voice as musicians.
